Chressa Law is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information entrusted to us. We collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws.
What we collect
When you submit the consultation form, we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, jurisdiction or location, a brief description of your matter, and, if you choose to share it, how you heard about us. When you contact us by email, telephone, or WhatsApp, we receive the information contained in your message. WhatsApp messages are transmitted through WhatsApp and are also subject to WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy.
This website uses analytics tools, which may set cookies and collect technical information such as pages visited, approximate location, device type, and how you arrived at the site. This information is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used.
How we use it
Information you provide is used to respond to your inquiry, assess whether the firm can assist you, schedule and conduct consultations, and, where a retainer follows, provide legal services. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use the information you send through the inquiry form for marketing without your consent.
Confidentiality and legal professional obligations
Information you share with the firm in connection with seeking legal advice is treated with the discretion the legal profession requires, whether or not a retainer follows. Please note that contacting the firm does not by itself create a lawyer and client relationship. That relationship is described in our Website Terms · Accessibility.
Storage, sharing, and retention
The website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider, and form submissions are delivered to the firm by email. We share personal information only with service providers necessary to operate the site and the practice, such as hosting, email, and scheduling providers, and where required by law. Information is retained only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by our professional and legal obligations.
Your choices and rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can disable cookies in your browser settings. To make a request, write to hello@chressalaw.com.
